Keep Austin Beautiful, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit service organization governed by a volunteer board of directors, was established by the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce in 1985 to preserve Austin’s quality of life. KAB has a mission to provide resources and education to engage citizens in building more beautiful communities.
The State of Texas Alliance for Recycling (STAR) is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to advance recycling through partnerships, education, and advocacy for the benefit of Texas.
The Office of Sustainability, established in 2009, promotes daily campus sustainability at The University of Texas at Austin by assisting student environmental groups like the Campus Environmental Center, stewarding the campus’ Sustainability Master Plan, facilitating research and projects through the Green Fund, and loosely coordinating the oversight of sustainability throughout the university.
